Do you like the satisfying click of poles sliding together? The triumphant feeling of a structure standing tall where once there was only chaos and a crumpled instruction sheet? Do you also like swimming pools, cold drinks, and the company of your fellow beautiful weirdos?
Good. Because this Sunday, August 19, we're combining work and play in the most glorious way possible.
We'll be doing a dry run of the new shade structure setup—learning how it all fits together before we're sweating in a Kansas field wondering which pole goes where and why there are so many leftover bolts. Then, when the work is done, we celebrate with a pool party, because we believe in rewarding ourselves like the magnificent creatures we are.
Food, drinks, splashing, and the quiet pride of having figured out the shade structure before September.
Want in? Let us know! Reach out and we'll get you the details—address, time, what to bring (swimsuit: yes; your "helpful" uncle who used to build barns: optional).
Grab your goggles. Lace up your most questionable boots. Slather on sunscreen in places sunscreen was never meant to go. Because everything is happening all at once, and we couldn't be more thrilled about it.
Yes, you read that correctly. And no, this is not a drill—though it may be a glitter cannon.
Adult tickets are 25, and vehicle passes are $, so consider this your cosmic nudge to act now.
Also new: you can pre-order ice. That's right $3 per bag, waiting for you at HQ Row like a chilly little miracle. Because nothing says "I have my life together" like a cooler full of cold beverages and the quiet confidence of someone who planned ahead.
All of this magic lives on our brand-new Eventbrite page. We've retired the carrier pigeons. They were pooping on the forms anyway. https://www.resonanceburn.com/
Volunteer sign-ups are OPEN, and we have a role for every flavor of human.
Want to greet arrivals with the unrestrained enthusiasm of a golden retriever who just saw its owner return from a 45-second mail check? Greeters wants you. Prefer the quiet dignity of parking cars with the precision of a gentle traffic wizard? Parking is calling. Feel drawn to hold sacred space as a Temple guardian? The Temple of Collective Care awaits your steady presence. Love the particular joy of serving meals that make tired volunteers weep actual tears of gratitude? Our kitchen is ready with an apron and a high-five.
Every shift is 4 hours max. Every shift comes with a meal from the volunteer kitchen. We want your energy, your heart, and your weird little quirks—not your exhaustion.
And yes, we're still looking for a few bold souls to step into leadership roles: Gate, Land Prep, Resto, First Aid, Rangers, Procession, and Greeters all need leads. If you've been quietly thinking "I could do that," this is the universe telling you: yes, you can.

Applications are OPEN for theme camps of every shape, size, and level of delightful absurdity.
A cozy tea lounge where strangers become friends over steaming cups of oolong? Submit it. A chaotic art circus where nothing makes sense and everything is beautiful? Submit it. A meditation dome humming with quiet vibes and floor pillows? Submit it. A camp whose entire premise is "aggressively good vibes" and someone dressed as a sunflower handing out compliments? You better believe we want that.
If you can dream it and secure your shade structure we want to host it.
Workshops. Processions. Talent shows. Interpretive dance about the theory of relativity. A seminar on the history of spoons. A parade that starts nowhere and ends everywhere. A group howl at the moon led by someone in a badger costume.
Event submissions are OPEN. This is your official nudge, shove, and gentle tackle to stop saying "I have this idea" and start typing it into a form. The theme is "Everything is Relative," which means your event can be big or small, loud or quiet, profound or profoundly silly. Perspective, interconnectedness, the beauty of tiny details—run with it.
Money is waiting. Real, actual dollars. And we want to give them to you.
The first $1,500 from vehicle passes is already earmarked for art at Reso, with more flowing to the greater Wichita arts community beyond. If your project needs materials paint, wood, fabric, LEDs, whatever strange substance your vision demands apply. We believe in your creative nonsense with the fervor of someone who has seen a sculpture made entirely of recycled flip-flops and wept at its beauty.
A few ground rules: grants cover materials only (not tools, labor, transport, or fire effects), and installations should be fully ready by Thursday at 6 PM.
Powered by pizza, coffee, leftover bungee cords, and the stubborn belief that a bunch of weirdos in a Kansas field can build something breathtakingly beautiful for four days in September.
The machine is humming. The dust is calling. Come build this beautiful, temporary world with us.
See you in the sunflowers,
—The Reso Crew
