The event is close now. Close enough that the to-do list has stopped being a list and started being a countdown. Close enough that we can feel the Kansas sun on our necks and the satisfaction of hard work in our bones. Close enough that we need you, yes, you, to show up and help push this thing across the finish line.
So let's talk about Saturday. And tickets. And vehicle passes. And volunteers. In that order, because order is relative but urgency is not.
This Saturday. Hutchinson. 9 AM to 3 PM.
We are making the final push on land prep, and we need bodies. Your body. Your friend's body. Your friend's friend's body. That person you met once at a potluck who said they'd love to help with something someday, well, someday is Saturday.
Here's the beautiful part: no heavy lifting required. We're not asking you to haul boulders. We're not asking you to deadlift a tractor. This is light work, the kind that goes fast with many hands and painfully slow with few.
What will you be doing? Clearing. Tidying. Prepping. The satisfying kind of labor where you can look back at the end of the day and see exactly what you accomplished. The kind where you go home tired in the best way, with dirt under your fingernails and the quiet pride of having done something real.
Bring water. Bring gloves if you've got them. Bring a snack to share or just bring yourself. Bring a friend. Bring a stranger who owes you a favor.
Saturday. 9 AM. Hutchinson. Be there.
Okay. Deep breath. Let's address something gently.
Tickets are on sale until September 1.
Not September 2. Not September 10. Not "whenever you get around to it." September 1. That is the date. The final date. The date after which the ticket portal closes and you will be sad and we will be sad and nobody wants that.
Apparently, some folks misunderstood. Some folks thought tickets were already gone. Some folks thought there was a different deadline. Some folks started rumors, because if there's one thing this community knows how to do besides build incredible art, it's generate drama.
We love drama. We do. Drama is the unofficial regional sport. But in this case, the drama is unnecessary, because tickets are still available. They exist. They are purchasable. The "Buy" button works. Go press it.
Do not let the rumor mill convince you that you missed out. Do not let someone else's misinterpretation become your missed opportunity. Do not show up without a ticket and say "but I thought..." because we will have to look at you with the sad eyes of someone who has heard this before.
September 1. That's the deadline. After that, the door closes. Before that, the door is open and the light is on and we are practically waving you inside.
Let's clear up a little terminology confusion that's been floating around:
There are no parking passes this year.
There. We said it. No parking passes. You do not need a separate pass to park your car in the main lot, or anywhere for that matter.
What you do need is a vehicle pass for each vehicle that comes onsite. Not per person, per vehicle. One car, one pass. Simple.
And here's where it gets good: every single dollar from vehicle pass sales goes directly to funding art. Art at Reso. Art in the Wichita community. Art that will make you stop, stare, and question your understanding of reality. That $10 vehicle pass isn't a fee it's a donation to the creative soul of this event and this city.
So when you buy your vehicle pass, you're not just buying permission for your car to exist onsite. You're buying the possibility of something beautiful. You're funding someone else's wild, improbable, magnificent idea. You're part of the art, even if all you did was drive there.
That's a pretty good deal for ten bucks.
We still need volunteers during the event. Still. The need has not evaporated. It has not magically filled itself while you were reading this sentence.
Four hours. That's all we ask. Four hours of your time in exchange for:
A meal, because working humans need fuel
The satisfaction of being part of the engine that makes Reso run
The right to say "I helped make this happen" every time someone compliments the event
The secret knowledge that you are not just a participant but a builder, a creator, a pillar of the community
Multiple departments. Multiple shifts. All the details are on the website. You know which website. The same one. News section. Form. Click. Done.
If you've been on the fence, get off it. If you've been waiting for the right moment, this is it. If you've been hoping someone else will fill the slots, be the someone else.
Four hours. A meal. Infinite bragging rights.

Saturday is coming whether you show up or not. September 1 is coming whether you've bought your ticket or not. The event is coming whether we're ready or not.
The only question is: are you going to be part of making it happen, or are you going to watch it happen from a comfortable distance and wonder why you didn't jump in?
Come to Hutchinson on Saturday. Bring your hands. Bring your friends. Let's get this land ready for the beautiful, dusty, ridiculous thing we're about to build.
