Hi everyone,
Looking for a bit of advice or ideas for setting up our race series for next year...
We're running a three event Standup Paddleboard series in 2026. Each event consists of three race disciplines that competitors race in (distance, technical and sprints). Competitors race in all disciplines. They can choose which of the events they want to race in (1, 2 or all 3).
We need to publish results from each race, as well as overall winners at each event.  There will also be a series result, with overall winners of the series.

I'd originally set up a series per event, with three different registrations, but this didn't seem correct and there was no way (or I missed it!) to have a series of series to allow signup for the 3 different events.
Next idea (which feels better) is to setup three registrations, one per event, to produce our registration lists. Then start three different races per event based on those registration lists. Then use the results series tool to produce the series results.

Does that sound reasonable, or are there better ways to do things?

Sounds like you missed this option in the series registration setup:

We'd need to set some races (the individual races on the day) to be non-optional,  but allow the competitors to sign up to what event they want to (with the three races being non-optional). Is it possible to mix them in the series setup?

Yes, there’s a “Required” checkbox for those events that are non-optional. See attached example.

Thanks - I'll give it a try and see if it can do what we need :-)
