Hi
I'm going to time a Mountain Bike race (marathon), mass start.
The race starts at one point and ends 50kms away.
I want to have an intermediate checkpoint
I'm timing with chips
How do I need to set up this race so I can have some at this checkpoint only with an Ipad and typing numbers manual or with antenna reader?

Here’s the setup on the app:

Start type = Mass
Record lap times = On
Number of laps = 2
Customize lap names = On
  Lap 1 = Checkpoint
  Lap 2 - Finish
Timing mode = Multi-device splits
Device #1 records = Start, Finish
  Device #2 records = Checkpoint

After sharing the final start list to device #2, you’d navigate back to “Hardware Setup” on device #2 and set “Chip timing = Off”.

You can have a 3rd device that records just the Start, but it should be easy enough to start the race on the same device that’s recording the chip finish.  You can do this from the finish line by being on the phone with the volunteer starting the race - or use “Race clock adjustment” to start the race on the finish device at some later time once you know when the race got underway.

Thanks Vesa

- If for some reason a racer didn't pass by that check point or if the verification was missed, when this race crosses the finish line would have a lap missed.
- This, missed check point could prevent the system to have this race finished the race ?
- The racer should have the finish time but a check point missing or when it reach the finished check, this check would count as the intermediate check ?

Just help me have this clear .

Thanks

Racers who are missed at the checkpoint will be shown “-“ as their checkpoint time.  This does not affect the finish time.

When using “Timing mode = Multi-device splits”, each device will show just the “Taps recorded” data for that timing point.  The results are calculated either at the Webscorer website with each device posting either live results, or posting the recorded data manually when there’s internet connectivity.  Alternatively, if there’s no internet access at all, you can combine the results via Bluetooth.
