Hello All,  I am new to using RFID Chip reads and my race this past weekend went great other than 1 issue.  I had a whole bunch of random tags not from my event get read at one point in the race. In these random chips where a few that had matching 3 digit codes that matched some of my Bib Numbers and therefore gave a positive read for one of my racers at a time when that actual bib was not there. How do I fix this? Am I supposed to be creating RFID bib numbers with more numbers and values in it? Here is an example of what I had for a bib number and RFID Number and what was read.

My Bib number 857 and 2 chips were on the bib with RFID Code of  000000000000000000000857

My Readers read code 30340c100851D440000F7857

This code gave my system a positive read as it read the final 3 digits which was 857.

I assume I have done something incorrect with my setup or at least I hope it's an error on my part and that someone can give me an easy solution for this issue.

If there is more information needed from anyone on what was happening let me know and I can always upload the CSV file for more detail.

Thanks

Phil

I’ve attached a screenshot of your chip timing settings for that race.

If your chips are programmed with leading zeros, you can set “Use partial chip ID = Off”.  The app will automatically strip the leading zeros off and match chip ID 000000000000000000000857 as bib 857.

This will help avoid the problem where random chips (keycards etc.) may get inadvertently detected as chips in the race.

Awesome thanks Vesa. I knew there was a way I just didn't know how to do it! Thanks for always being here for us with answers and solutions. This is why I've worked with Webscorer for so many years and will continue for many more to come!
