Good day good people of the Webscorer Users Group,

Curious what printers folks are using for their results kiosk? We haven't used one in the past as the system does a great job of emailing the results if we have their email. However, we've been asked if we could also provide a results station where finishers can look up and print their results.  Either a receipt style or label.

Cheers,

Rogelio

I've been on this journey myself and the best results I've had so far are from a star t1000 recipt printer.

We’ve used a Canon Pixma iP110 printer since 2015 and it has worked pretty well.

  • You can connect to it via Wi-Fi (its own hotspot) so it works anywhere. It also connects via USB.
  • It has an optional battery (though ours has died and I’m not sure I can get another one)
  • It can print in black & white and color, though it’s inkjet, so it tends to cruise through ink when used sporadically
  • The ink tends to smear right when it comes out, especially if it’s wet or really humid.

It’s not available anymore, but Canon may have a new version.

I’ve wondered about thermal printers. Has anyone ever tried the PocketJet series from Brother?

cheers… -Adam
