Hi

Sorry if this is a silly question and I'm overlooking something obvious!

Within our race results, we use the option to exclude the top placed runners (in our case, the top 3) from age category results. So if the person at the top of a Vet40 age category is within the top three places overall, the category 'win' is awarded to the next placed runner.

I can't see that there's a similar option within a series setup. We have a series of races within our club throughout the year, and at the end of the season we want to apply similar principles that the top three runners won't also win an age category prize.

I have had a look through the various series setup options and can't spot an equivalent 'exclude top x runners' but wonder if I am missing something obvious.

Many thanks

Andy

The “Exclude top 3 overall” option applies to individual results only - this feature is not available / used for results series.

Why?  Let’s assume you have a series of 2 races where the total time determines the series winner.  Racer named John Runner wins the 1st race overall and is excluded from also winning his category M40-49.  In the 2nd race, John places 4th but wins his own M40-49 category.  If the series were to exclude John from the category series in the 1st race, John would be marked as “-1 race” in series standings which is probably not what you want.
