Hello,

I realize there is a running tally of athletes from the start list that have not yet crossed the finish line in the bottom right corner of the timing screens. However, would it be possible to also implement the number of athletes who had a chip start that haven't yet crossed the finish?

In pretty much every endurance race ever, someone asks the timer how many runners are still out on the course. Of course we don't know the no shows and so the reply might be "up to 128 runners." Wouldn't it be nice to be able to say "up to 128 runners, but only 97 crossed the start line so that's probably a more accurate number." In the bottom screen it could read 97/128 instead of just 128. Maybe you can already do this - if so, please let me know how. Thanks

In the next app update, the “Race Progress” panel will show the following new statistics:

802 On course with chip start
33 On course with gun start

To access this panel, tap the “Race progress” toolbar button on the timing screen.  The same panel will also show you the number of finishers by distance.

We’re hoping to get this update (version 7.6) out this week.

Hi Vesa,

I wanted to let you know that I used the new "Runners on Course" statistic (showing both chip and gun starts) on the Race Progress page this morning, and it was incredibly useful. This is a wonderful addition.

My best,
Tim

Thanks for the feedback Tim.

Webscorer is a collection of great improvement ideas from a community of amateur & professional timers in 120+ countries across 70+ sports.

Credit for the “Race progress” feature suggestion goes to Dan Crawford of Northwest Trail Runs in Seattle, WA.   Credit for the feature to show “On course with chip start / On course with gun start” goes to Martin Jennings of Sublime Timing in the UK.
