Webp images in structured data

My site auto-applies a webp filter to all images for site speed improvements: 
https://cdn.irishluck.ie/filters:format(webp)/irishluck-payment-methods-2.jpg

all images within schemas are also webp. would this create a problem while fetching images in rich snippets?

I'm not familiar with this, but there is some documentation [1] and a test app [2] that you could try.
