The version of webp on FreeBSD 13.1 is 1.2.4. And within the libwebp.pc file it indicates `Requires: libsharpyuv` which is not in the source code until webp version 1.3.0 This causes applications supporting webp to fail to compile.

Thanks for the report. The .pc from v1.2.4 doesn't mention libsharpyuv [1]. Are you running into issues with a local build or did the FreeBSD package pick up a newer .pc somehow?

The package picked up the new one. Base install of the distributed 13.1 freebsd, then at command prompt do a pkg install webp-1.2.4 (or the appropriate command), then look at the .pc file that was included. It is the new one and not the one that is associated with version 1.2.4.

Since I do not know who is responsible for this.

Thanks for the pointer to the bug report. The WebP team doesn't maintain this port, so it's probably best to move the conversation there.

As for the v1.2.4 release of the library itself, the pkgconfig file is correct. It looks like there was a bug in the ports package.

I'll close this bug for now. If something specific to libwebp comes up please feel free to reopen this.
