How to convert animated GIFs to WebPs?

it is said that:
"Animations compressed as GIFs can use animation support in WebP."

I tried to convert an animated GIF to WebP by using cwebp.exe but the
output is a static picture.

This is still a work in progress. There isn't an example for
converting animated gifs yet, but the current guide for the container
is here: [1]. Future updates will be made to webp-container-spec.txt,
the pdf file is deprecated.
