WebP gives you the same quality as jpg with 30% less image size. ComicRack supports WebP for reading and writing. Additionally if your device (Android, IPad) supports WebP, it is now the standard format used for device optimization.
Let's see if this WebP thing is any good.
First we'll export our books with the page format as WebP.
Next I export a book with the pages in the WebP format. Here it reduces the size from 86MB to 19MB.
The individual page dimensions are the same, but the filesize of a page is reduced from 1.9 MB to 347 KB.
Now, let us see if the image quality suffers:
The quality is crystal clear, if not better than its source.
So, I think the new WebP format is simply superb. If you have space constraints on your drive, or you use the cloud for uploading & then downloading your comics, this is the format to use.
So, what are you waiting for? Convert your entire library with the pages in the WebP format today!
