Hi All,

I have downloaded streams from the following path assuming they are coded using VP9 Codec, but when decoded using the code in Master Branch they are decodable only using VP8 Codec.

Please share me the path to download streams from youtube which are coded as VP9.

Thanks,
Srinivas

We only serve vp9 to browsers that support it.  My guess is that whatever you are using to download the stream isn't giving the right user agent.

That said check http://www.youtube.com/static?gl=GB&template=terms.   I don't think downloading videos in this manner is allowed.

Are you finding it hard to find enough videos to properly test the codec?    Maybe we can resolve in another way.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for sharing the information.

I am finding hard to test the VP9 decoder, as the test vectors generated using 'make testdata'  covers only minimal features.
Features like Segmentation/Resolution Change,QP Deltas and so on... are not verified.

Can you please point me to the path to download test vectors for VP9 Conformence testing.

Thanks,
Srinivas

Hi Jim,

Could you share VP9 stream for me?
I've tried to download VP9 (webm contrinaer) but failed to get it.
Actually, I need 4K VP9 bitstreams for verifying G2 IP. (In addition, Do you have ABR bitstreams??)

Hi Jim

I have the same request.
I'm also working on the integration of the G2VP9 and I'm finding it hard to find enough videos to properly test the codec.

Best Regards,
Slim.

Hi All,

We have a full set of conformance bit-streams for VP9 decoder testing, see more details at www.argondesign.com/streamsvp9

Argon Streams VP9 includes verification bit-streams for Profile 0, 1, 2 and 3.

Profile 0 streams (also known as the specification feature set 1), for 8-bit per channel YUV 4:2:0 format

Profile 1 streams, for 8-bit YUV 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 format

        10-bit Profile 2 streams, for 10-bit YUV 4:2:0 format

        12-bit Profile 2 streams, for 12-bit YUV 4:2:0 format

       10-bit Profile 3 streams, for 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 format

       12-bit Profile 3 streams, for 12-bit YUV 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 format

The coverage includes complete coverage of every pseudo-code function in the specification and every value for every tree coded symbol

The Test Bit-streams are provided along with a Coverage Test Report which provides a number of different summary descriptions of the test streams.  The descriptions include:

coverage statistics for every pseudo-code function

tooltips to show exactly which streams are used to test each part of each function

maximum and minimum values for each parsed and computed variable

coverage statistics for every value of every tree coded symbol

Argon Streams are designed to give efficient testing by using short, low resolution sequences.  In addition, tests sequences are provided at the following higher resolutions - 1280x720, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, 1920x1080, 2048x1080, 4096x2048, 4096x2160

Is there any way to share a standard set of VP9 videos at different profiles and resolutions for initial evaluation and verification purpose? We can generate our own set of videos with libvpx, but would be nice to have a set of reproducible output.

There are test vectors available for compliance testing [1]. Outside
of youtube itself there isn't a set of youtube-like clips for
performance testing currently.
