FInally a great opensource solution for Webm on iOS

Hi, 

With VLC 2.0 coming to iOS users , a new solution is coming to help propose webm only HTML5 videos.

I explain : 

In next 2.0.2 VLC , it will propose a vlc:// url handler that will enable to launch vlc to play an http (webm or anythin) stream directly in VLC in Safari.

SO no more HTML5 mp4 needed only for iOS, just a redirection to vlc://yourvideo.webm with UA siffing and you will be sure that with VLC installed they will play your webm video.

Goos news? the Vlc devs have implemented my proposal faster than a rocket :

Can someone please open a dev ticket to make VLC for iOS available on the Canadian app store? It's ridiculous that we can't get this. Would love to install it but it isn't in our country's App Store. :(*

About playing webm (VP8) files in VLC on IOS :

Today I tried to play this small file ( 720p, 500 kbits ):

I tried on an Iphone4 ( iOS 7.1.2à with Latest VLC ( 2.5.1 ) , after
downloading the webm with safari it propose to open it in VLC (good)
but

- half of the video in VLC is scrambled like a decoding problem,
- a message appear when launching the video 'Your iphone is too slow
to play this ...)


Do you encounter the same problem on your iOs devices with my video ?
Maybe I should output all my videos in 480p..
