Up till about a few days ago the *.webm video format was working just fine in IE9, but now it just stopped. What happened? I went to download and re-install the *.webm codec from the Google support page at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/webmmf- but no use! I've checked on 3 different computers, but they all stopped playing the *.webm video for no apparent reason. Now that flash is going out, more and more websites started to use the WEBM video format, I downloaded the plugin, all was fine, but now they don't work any more. Anybody knows anything about it? Thanks in advance!

Ps: This is the second time I'm trying to post this message. There was some malfunction the first time.

Please open an issue and provide as much detail as possible, here:

In particular, provide an example URL.

First-time posts from non-subscribers are queued for moderation. I've
white-listed you now, so your posts should go directly through.
Hopefully. Groups has transient glitches in this area. Any problems,
let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply, I submitted the same info over there. Meanwhile I asked a friend from oversea to check it out and he confirmed the same. IE9 doesn't play back the videos in WEBM format any more, only the "fallback" *.mp4 format at the sites we've tested. When right-clicked on the video's "Save As" link, they all showed *.mp4 and there is no sign of *.webm any more. On other sites with no "fallback" format, only having the *.webm format, there is only the "not found" type "X" sign there. But the same websites and video plays back just fine in Google Chrome. The weird part is that IE9 played these videos back just fine before. Did Microsoft "pulled the plug" on the WEBM format or what? Like I said: WEIRD... :-(
