Hello, This is Soy Lee, a sales and marketing manager in Marusys Co., Ltd.

We, Marusys are one of Settop box manufacturer in Korea and willing to develop a new model which use the VP6 codec.

I sent an e-mail to Google Korea regarding this but I guess there is no related department with the license in Korea.

Also we found out VP8 is usable on an open source basis, as a free, however there are not enough information for using VP6 codec.

 

I would like you to inform us the detail requirement if we use VP6 license and process include expected required period as well.

Hello. The VP6 video codec is no longer supported and there are no
licensing terms available. Sorry.
