Hi
In December 2015 the option to use near-lossless option was introduce (0.5.0) but in the public documentation of cwebp it is not present yet (https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/docs/cwebp)
Is there a good reason for it to be undocumented yet? or was it just forgotten?

Thanks
Tom

hi Tom,

the main reason is that it's pretty much still experimental. The new option (-near_lossless <int>) is mostly
a placeholder for now. Even more, a related option (-delta_palettization) is not yet listed in the help, by default.
The effect of -near_lossless is likely to change a lot with newer releases, that's why it was kept quiet for now.

hope it helps,
skal/

Thanks
Tom
