libvpx is due for another release. There has been substantial effort
put into the encoder especially for real time scenarios. It is
currently available for testing in WebRTC. Two pass improvements to
speed and quality continue to roll in. Level definitions, useful for
characterizing the resources necessary for a stream, are in progress
and we hope to finish them for this release.

Code cleanup driven in part by expanded sanitizer coverage (UBSan in
particular) has yielded a somewhat tidier library.

New contributors have submitted both code and issue reports to fix
defects, improve the library, and bring up regressions.

VP10 is still a work in progress and will be removed from the release
but significant changes have been made to both VP10 and AM1 and we
expect that to continue.

If there are any outstanding issues that anyone is concerned about,
please bring them up on the mailing list or bug tracker. I tried to
upstream the distribution-specific changes I could find, but if anyone
is aware of any others please let us know.

We would like to cut a release candidate within the next week or two.

Very good news.

Btw, what is the status on vp9 videos are slightly "blur" issue?

It is also mentioned in Ronald S. Bultje's following post:

Is there any work done in this regard to fix the issue?

Regards
Sagara

Sagara makes a good point. I find the blur to be much more annoying than the snail's pace of the encoder. Will it be resolved any time soon?
