Good morning everyone,
I have just acquired a GRAVEL BIKE and I want to discover new trails. My fitness level is 35k, wanting to reach 60 or 70 this summer. I am not into racing but rather leisurely paced trail discovery with fun people... distancing of course.
I can join you (at a respectable distance) or could you send me links to GRAVEL TRAILS in the Waterloo/Cambridge area?
THANK YOU!
Eugénie

Hi Eugenie,
I'm sure others on here can give you some good specific routes, but here are some websites to help
ridewithGPS.com - the club saves a lot of routes on Ride with GPS and makes them publicly viewable or if you're a member you can see the club's library of routes and filter by the tag "gravel".
gravelmap.com shows all the gravel roads & trails as an overlay on the map
And of course there is always the Guleph to Goderich G2G Rail Trail: https://g2grailtrail.com/

Hi Eugenie

I blogged about some of my favourite gravel roads nearby!

Hi Eugenie:  Although not technically a gravel road, I would add the Grand River / Walter Bean trail to the list (maybe Steve already has it in his blog?).  The surface is hard packed gravel / stone dust.  I find it to be a great option on windy days or cool days when you don’t want to spend too much time in the open.  I rode it yesterday (Sat) starting from Kiwanis Park and going out to Freeport Hospital.  I’m not a fan of out and back routes, so I do an urban adventure to get back home from there.  Total route for me was about 45km.  Shorter variations are possible.  It’s also quite hilly which adds to the fun (or not).
