Hello everyone! 

Welcome to Virginia Tech Club Gymnastics! I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! 

 

This email is very important, so please make sure you read it in its entirety.  

  

Next Practice is Tomorrow!  

Info Meetings Tomorrow! 

We will have our general info meeting at the beginning of practice and a separate meeting after for those interested in competing this year. There will be a meeting document that will be sent out on the discord after the meetings if you can’t make it but please try to be there!  

 

We will host practice at Virginia Techniques Gymnastics (Gateway Plaza, 1550 Roanoke St, Christiansburg, VA 24073), on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week from 8:30pm to 10:30pm. If you need a ride, join the discord server and go to #rides-chat to find a ride or message an officer.  

 

Gobbler Fest 

Thank you to everyone who came out to Gobbler Fest, it was great talking to everyone and seeing the great interest in gymnastics! 

 

Dues: 

Practice will be FREE until 9/7! Dues must be paid to sports clubs or you must pay a practice fee ($10 per practice). Dues paid to sports clubs are mandatory if you are to be on the roster for the team and want to compete with us. It is $150 for the semester or $300 for the year. Dues are paid in person at McComas by cash, check, or money order only! DO NOT TRY TO USE A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD. IT WILL BE DENIED. All checks should be made payable to “The Treasurer of Virginia Tech”.  

 

Other Sports Clubs Requirements: 

These will be covered in a meeting during practice on September 6th and on the meeting document which will be shared in the discord after the meeting.  

  • Here is a Doc  to general important links. 

  • All team members must get concussion tested this fall in order to compete and be on the roster. You can schedule an appointment though the link on the Sports Medicine Page.  

  • All team members must also fill out IMLeagues.  

  • We are a USLP, meaning we are part of the university covered under Rec Sports. This means that VT Club Gymnastics is a sober organization and any apparel featuring the team must not be worn while going out. Be smart!

Join our discord! The invitation link is https://discord.gg/b8FebY6p . Make sure to read the welcome message in the #welcome-to-club-gymnastics and follow the directions. We use this to communicate regularly in addition to the weekly emails. It is mandatory you join when becoming part of the team since this is where we send our team-specific information and any emergency information.
