Hello all,

Thanks to all who attended yesterday's EVEF webinar! Turnout was tremendous, and we greatly appreciate your time.

Please consider attending this upcoming webinar, Predicting Cold Hardiness and Budbreak in Grapevines, from our colleagues at Penn State and the University of Wisconsin-Madison on January 27, 2026, at 1:00pm EST. Registration is free, and further details are below:

Predicting Cold Hardiness and Budbreak in Grapevines

Through controlled experiments that measured how grapevine cold hardiness responds to changing temperatures, researchers developed a model that accurately predicts bud cold hardiness and budbreak in the field. The ColdSnap project now offers these predictions in a practical, grower-focused tool to support winter injury risk assessment and management, with plans to incorporate budbreak forecasting as the next enhancement. To ground this resource in Pennsylvania and regionally important cultivars, the session will also present cold hardiness and budbreak patterns observed across multiple seasons in Pennsylvania vineyards, helping growers understand how regional variation and recent weather conditions shape winter injury risk and vine phenology.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this event!

All the best,
Drew
