Good evening all,

The weather outlook for this week is forecasting some very cold daily minimum temperatures, right on the heels of this past weekend's storm. Some regions of the state and Mid-Atlantic are expected to see periods of subzero temps, and I've been receiving emails/calls about bud cold hardiness.

As part of an ongoing project, we have been taking monthly measurements on bud cold hardiness and conducted our last measurement recently (1/15-1/16). Since we have some varieties that are widely planted (namely Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc), I wanted to share this data, in addition to some notes/resources about bud cold hardiness and assessing buds for possible cold injury.

The post and data can be found on our website here

I hope everyone stays warm this week and enjoys the snow. And please let me know if you have any questions.

All the best,
Drew
