Hello all,

I typically try to avoid sending emails over the weekend but given this past week's freeze event, I wanted to push out some timely updates.

First, if you have not yet participated in the VVA's survey about freeze damage, I'd encourage you to do so. The VVA is working with VWA, VDACS, and VDF to assess total damage, and this information will be used to develop state-wide responses. Please communicate with your staff to ensure that only 1 response per vineyard operation is submitted.

Second, I put together a short blog post detailing post-freeze viticultural guidance. Here's a link to that:  https://vtviticulture.com/2026/04/25/post-freeze-4-21-considerations/

Finally, Mizuho posted his disease management recommendations earlier this week, but here they are in case you missed them: https://ext.grapepathology.org/frost-disease-risks-and-a-downy-forecast

As always, don't hesitate to let us know how we can help and if you have further questions.

All the best,
Drew
