Outdoor Clinic for International Students: Chose Your Own Outdoor Adventure 

 

Cranwell is partnering with Venture Out to offer an outdoor workshop for international students! Come learn how to plan your own adventure outside. We’ll go over basic outdoor safety, how to navigate the rules and regulations of land in the U.S., equipment for trips, and more! QR code to register. October 8th Harper Hall, Community Room 1025, 5:30pm-7pm. Refreshments provided.

 World Mental Health Day 

Stop by and visit the Cranwell table at the World Mental Health Wellness Fair Oct. 10th, 11am-6pm in the Squires Ballroom! We’ll be hosting a rock painting wellness activity as well as talking about resources for international student success.

 

 

Friendly Conversation for Students and Partners 

Friendly conversation for international students with partners (F-2, J-2, all are welcome!) 4:00-5:30 PM, Friday, October 11th.

Join Cranwell and friends for chill conversation, coffee, tea, and refreshments in the newly renovated Community Room in Harper Hall 1025.  Never been to this side of campus? Fall break is a great time to explore, with campus parking in nearby lots and a BT route by Harper Hall on West Campus Dr. Please RSVP on GobblerConnect if you plan to join us and add the event to your Google Calendar or iCal/Outlook calendar!

International Academic Day of Integrity: Don’t Fall for Cheating FallFest 

 

Come visit the Cranwell table at the Don’t Fall for Cheating FallFest, October 16th, between 1-4pm, located near the Duck Pond. Decorate Cranwell’s “Integr-tree,” a Fall tree decorated in writing prompts that explore ideas of integrity across the world! There will be all kinds of activities and treats from campus partners across VT. 

 

 
 

Job Searching in Academia for International Students

 

Join Cranwell, Career and Professional Development, and The Graduate School in a workshop for international students looking to pursue a career in academia! This session will go over job platforms, professional organizations, networking, strategic ways to fill career gaps, and visa pathways. Head to the grad school cafe hour and then stop by Classroom B in the GLC Oct. 23rd from 5-6:30pm. Refreshments provided! 

 

Boulding Day at the Rock Wall for International Students  

Cranwell is partnering with Venture Out to offer a free day at the rock-climbing wall for international students! Good for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Saturday, Oct. 26th . You can register from 10am-noon or 1-3pm.

“Know Your Rights” Series 

Are you considering protesting or advocating for your rights?  Please come to this event to learn more about VT’s university policies as well as understand the possible outcomes for promoting civic engagement on campus.  This event focuses on undergraduate and graduate students, not to mention international students.  There will be VT leaders from Student Affairs, Student Conduct, VT Police, The ACLU, and a local defense attorney.  Monday, Oct. 28th, a hybrid event in GLC Multi-Purpose Room and Zoom. 5:30-7pm. Free food provided!
