Dear students,

Just a reminder we’re looking forward to our last scheduled World Cup Watch Party in Harper Hall 1025 TODAY at 3:00 PM.

The match reignites one of football’s most storied rivalries: England vs. Argentina.

From the “Hand of God” goal in 1986 to Beckham’s petulant foul from the ground in 2002, drama ensues when these two teams meet.

We hope to see you later this afternoon for refreshments and good company in our community room.

I’ll be here hosting until the final whistle, whether that’s in regular time or PKs.

Cheers!

Dear students,

Thanks for coming out yesterday for our watch party!

Yesterday’s match did NOT disappoint in excitement and drama. Congrats, Argentina/Messi fans. Apologies, England fans—to be fair, the three lions honored a tradition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. (I share this football fan trauma as my father is British.) Just wanted to send a quick correction of my email yesterday, which relied on my faulty memory of watching World Cup England v. Argentina matches past. It was in 1998 that Beckham was sent off for the red card—2002 he scored the winning goal by penalty kick in the group stage.

Reminder that we’re not showing the final but many local establishments will certainly broadcast the match.

Happy Thursday and hope to see you again at our next Coffee with Cranwell!
