Lyric Theater Free Movies! Rural Everywhere Watch Party When: Wed., July 29, 7:00 PM FREE ADMISSION Join The Center for Rural Education at Virginia Tech for an in-person watch party at the Lyric Theatre, bringing neighbors, educators, organizers, and community leaders together to experience the virtual event and engage in meaningful discussions. The program features rural authors, community organizers, educators, musicians, poets, and other inspiring voices from across the country. Waterstone Mortgage Free Movie Fridays: A MINECRAFT MOVIE When: Fri., Aug 7, 10:00 AM FREE ADMISSION Four misfits find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master this world while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve.
Blacksburg Steppin’ Out Festival
Where: Downtown Blacksburg
When: Friday and Saturday, August 7 and 8, 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Main and Community Stages feature free performances from Itraab Musical Ensemble, VT String Project, and more! Read more on the Steppin’ Out website. Want to get a local’s perspective on the annual festival? There are still a few volunteer spots available for Steppin’ Out, please consider signing up. All volunteers receive a FREE souvenir shirt.
