We are forwarding an invitation to participate in a research project led by faculty at Virginia Tech, which may be of interest.

We are a team of researchers at Virginia Tech who are exploring student experiences of community and belonging on campus. We are looking for students who can speak to us, in a focus group or individual interview, about their experiences forming community and the factors that contribute to their sense of belonging. We are intentionally recruiting students who are allied with the cultural and community centers on campus, since the sociopolitical climate can impact students from underrepresented or underserved populations. We hope to draw inspiration from participant responses to form recommendations for how to enhance community and belonging on campus. 

 

If you are interested in participating, please email Dr. Hannah Bayne, han...@vt.edu. You will be provided with an option to participate in a focus group or individual interview. You will receive a $25 gift card for your participation and we will have snacks for focus group participants. All interviews will be transcribed and de-identified, so your identity will be protected (see the attached informed consent for more information about the study and confidentiality).
