Hi all,
- Facilitate basic and advanced computational aspects of research at Virginia Tech through collaborations and interactions with researchers and research projects
- Engage with researchers, with ARC systems, and with the systems engineering team
promote and generally work to advance the mission of ARC
- Teach, develop, and contribute to ARC training sessions and workshops
- Provide support and assistance to the ARC Helpdesk team
Virginia Tech's Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is hiring! We have openings for two Computations Scientists and one Visualization Systems Specialist.
ARC is VT's centralized resource for RCD services and hosts computational systems providing over 50,000 cpu cores and 320 high-end GPU accelerators. Our user base of researchers includes diverse representation from fields ranging from materials engineering to metagenomics, animal and poultry sciences to aerospace engineering, plasma physics to political science. We welcome applications from all who are interested in being part of VT's advance "Beyond Boundaries" and especially from those belonging to groups that are often underrepresented in STEM, HPC, or RCD fields.

Computational Scientist positions, Virginia Tech Advanced Research Computing
The computational scientists are mainly researcher-facing positions and will:- Facilitate basic and advanced computational aspects of research at Virginia Tech through collaborations and interactions with researchers and research projects
- Engage with researchers, with ARC systems, and with the systems engineering team
promote and generally work to advance the mission of ARC
- Teach, develop, and contribute to ARC training sessions and workshops
- Provide support and assistance to the ARC Helpdesk team
For one of the positions, we are particularly interested in someone with interest/experience in visualization and data analysis.

Visualization Systems Specialist, Virginia Tech Advanced Research Computing
We have an opening for motivated candidates who want to use 3D graphics and scientific visualization to solve big problems at the cutting-edge of research.
