Tinkercliffs & Infer: login node reboots tomorrow morning

Summary: 

Between 9:00am - 11:00 am on Thursday, January 13th (tomorrow), the login nodes for Tinkercliffs and Infer clusters will each be rebooted. The impact time for each node should be less than 30 minutes.

Affected nodes:

tinkercliffs1.arc.vt.edu, 

tinkercliffs2.arc.vt.edu, 

infer1.arc.vt.edu 

** Most cluster operations should not be affected: The compute nodes where jobs run will stay up. Back end systems will not be affected. Batch jobs running on compute nodes will continue to run. Jobs in the queue will remain in the queue.

Detail:

The login nodes for the Tinkercliffs and Infer clusters need to be rebooted to complete some maintenance work. The reboots will take place between 9:00-11:00am on Thursday, Jan. 13 (tomorrow). This will not affect jobs which are running or scheduled, but any active connections/sessions on the affected nodes will be terminated and any running processes  (including screen or interact) on the affected nodes will be halted. Each login node will be returned to service as soon as normal function is verified after the reboot.
