All, I need some real good advice.

As I had to update the container in which I have run my development for the project I'm developing. As the container was built on an image of Joomla along with php, the new setup of the container caused Joomla to a full new installation, but using the same database as before.
However the installations are completely gone. For sure I could install JCB, but it's "empty", only showing the demo component and no longer mine which I was working on.
Now I have backups of the entire DB locally and as well from Joomla installation, but can anyone tell me wether I will get back to my "old" status if I replace the current DB content with the backedup content?
I have so far focused on the dev istelf and never about migration topics and would really love to avoid buildig it all again manually again.

So if anyone has a good advice on what to to best now would be very much appreciated.

Oliver

This is beyond the JCB topic, but this should be very easy to do if you have root access to import the database, or via the PHPmyadmin interface. You will have to research this on the web, and follow the normal database restore path.

I can give you to some bash... or even some PHP but I think this will just complicate things for you. Best you start your search from the knowledge base you are at... and work your way up painful as that may be.

But I can say that if you have a database backup, and you have JCB installed again, you can remove the new JCB tables, move the old tables back and all should work, and have all our data back.

Thanks ((ewe))yn, I'm awar ethat this isn't true JCB topic, but I just wasn't sure whether I'd regain all elements from within my JCB project when restoring the database - which you confirmed. I replaced the DB by the previsously backed up DB and everything is fine again.

Thanks ahain,
Oliver

We are moving to GitHub Discussions. We will keep this open to give access to old issues, resolved. But please continue conversations on the new github discussions area ;)
