Save db data in uninstallation

Hi,

How can I preserve data when uninstalling a component? Is it possible to choose whether to keep the data or not?

This is a feature request, please open this on GitHub as a feature request. Since at this time JCB automatically adds the uninstall sql to each component. We do this since the normal upgrade path in JCB for each component actually works very well, and usually uninstalling an extension is a very bad choice since it removes all remnants of the extension integration out of all core tables. I would never use this as a upgrade path... meaning to uninstall and then reinstall, JCB manages the SQL updates and stuff very good if the components meets the default development path, watch these tutorial:

But adding the option not to remove the sql tables is not that hard to add, and a legitimate feature... so I am willing to look at this, maybe add this as a pro feature. But please reopen this as a feature request on GitHub.
