With spring semester wrapping up it’s time to spend the next few months gearing up for an even more powerful 2014-2015 school year. Do you want to be part of the leadership team that makes it all happen?
Steering Committee members will be responsible for organizational decision-making and vision, leading campaigns, building coalitions within the student movement, recruiting new members, coordinating a leadership retreat, and determining long-term structure, strategy, and vision of USFT. Applicants must be willing and able to commit 2-4 hours of work each week to national USFT leadership (separate from local organizing). This is a volunteer position. Steering Committee members will be responsible for logging hours and submitting reports.
QUALIFICATIONS: Eligible candidates must be current students with a passion for economic justice. Leadership experience, work in fair trade/economic justice, and organizing experience are preferred. All steering committee members must be available to attend an orientation retreat August 1-3 (location TBD).
APPLICATION PROCESS: Return your completed application to nat...@usft.org by June 15, 2014. Applicants will be contacted for follow-up phone interviews with the USFT National Organizer the following week.
