Hi there

I have been looking at your ICU4J, and found a few features that I would like to have added.

This is not an email regarding a bug-fix. I would like to become an ICU developer and contribute with the work I have already done.

I am currently doing Master of IT thesis at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia). My thesis hypothesis is to make multilingual programming easier for new developers. My main focus is Java programming.

So far I have created some prototypes for the swing library which uses your xml files from the CVS repository which very easily lets the developer use the information to create multilingual user interfaces.

I’m also working on a system which automatically sets up JComponents like JTextField, JComboBox, etc to represent Unicode characters by selecting the most suitable font available on the users system.

My main aim for the system is JNLP and Java applications.
