After I run ./runConfigureICU AIX4.3VA, I run gmake but it always
encounters this error:
ld: 0711-851 SEVERE ERROR: Output file: libicuuc24.0.so The file is in use and cannot be overwritten.
gmake[1]: *** [libicuuc24.0.so] Error 12
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/data/icu/icu/source/common'
gmake: *** [all-recursive] Error 2
Do you know why this occurs? How can I fix it?

AIX has a "special feature" of caching all shared libraries in memory.
Unfortunately, it never lets go of the libraries.
The easiest way to fix this bug is to follow these steps:
1) Make sure that no other programs are using ICU on that system.
2) Run "gmake clean" or delete the whole ICU source directory.
3) Do the normal steps of building ICU.
