Dear CG Lee,
You can see for the small set of mapping tables listed in ICU's
convrtrs.txt for which Mac encodings they are used.
I don't know which other IBM tables are for other Mac encodings including
Japanese ones. A quick check in an IBM-internal database suggests that
there is no IBM mapping table available equivalent to MacOS Japanese
encodings.
I also believe that there is no public URL for getting information about
IBM CCSID definitions - I will check with a colleague.
For non-IBM Unicode conversion tables that we have collected (see
http://oss.software.ibm.com/icu/charset/) we have run small data
collection programs on the respective machines to collect actual mappings
as they are performed by the platform conversion API.
We currently do not have such a program ported for MacOS. I will contact
someone at Apple to see if we can get a collaboration on this together.
Would you be interested in working with us on such a port of the data
collection program to MacOS X?
Best regards,
markus
