Hi All,

Thanks to the report of a developer on campus, a problem was identified with the code used to insert the Google Translate Widget on pages leveraging the University Website Assets.  Internet Explorer (IE) 7 and IE8 would not display the drop down list for people to select alternate languages.

Typically we don't work to guarantee compatibility with all older browser versions. In this case, we have yet to upgrade to IE 9 on campus after it's release a year and a half ago.  Currently, it appears as though IE8 is still used more than the newer and recommended version both on and off campus.  The code was modified slightly and compatibility tested back to IE 8.

For those who leverage the Website Assets managed on each of the ITS managed web servers, no change needs to be made.  For those who are managing their own copy, I recommend that you upgrade to your copy of the University Website Assets and in particular:

incuncg/js/common.js

Thanks once again to all of you who report issues or ask questions about the Website Assets and the documentation we provide.
