Some background on our speaker: Tia Hunt is a citizen of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and based in Carrboro, NC. She got her start as an organizer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill focusing on anti-imperialism and police abolition while pursuing degrees in American Studies and Religious Studies. She now serves as the Rights of Nature Organizer & Communications Manager for 7 Directions of Service in order to advance Indigenous sovereignty in the state of North Carolina.
