Very Important! This fellowship is offered through a national competition and is not offered every year.  The sponsoring organization has not yet announced whether the award will be offered this year. This award may not be available this year. 

If you would be interested in applying please let me know ASAP so that we know how many applications to expect. 

The Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund Fellowship is open to graduate students with outstanding character and ability, who hold promise for achievement and distinction in their chosen field of study, and who demonstrate substantial educational debt.

Eligible nominees:
-must have an outstanding undergraduate record
-must demonstrate substantial educational debt
-are pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree at the University of Minnesota
-must be a citizen of the United States.

Areas of funding interest (as taken from the Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund website):
Graduate school fellowships in any recognized field of study in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences (including law, medicine, engineering, architecture, or other formal professional training). The selection committee has a strong preference for supporting scholarly endeavors. 

Amount: $18,000 annual stipend and tuition, renewable for up to three years of support. 

The applications will be reviewed by the Psychology Awards Committee. We may nominate only one student for this competition

Application materials are due to Rachel Goeller (deco...@umn.edu), by noon on Thursday Nov. 12th so that we can meet the projected graduate school deadline of December 8th. (Or We will let you know as soon as possible what the deadline is for this award) 

Please note that copies of the Federal Income tax returns for the prior two years do not need to be submitted by the deadline departmental deadline. Psychology's nominee will be subsequently notified and these materials will be due at a later date.  

We will send a follow-up as soon as we can with an update on the status of this award and departmental deadline if applicable.
