The CLA Graduate Research Partnership Program (GRPP) encourages graduate students enrolled in programs housed within the college to partner with a College of Liberal Arts (CLA) faculty project advisor on projects of shared interest. The Department of Psychology has been allotted 12 GRPP awards for the Summer of 2016.
GRPP awards will be in the form of a fellowship of $4,000. Graduate students will be required to fulfill their responsibilities to the satisfaction of their faculty mentor and a list of specific objectives and duties will be established prior to the beginning of the project. Awards may also include up to an additional $300 to cover the cost of the budgeted materials, travel, and expendables associated with the successful execution of the project.
Eligibility
-Applications must be submitted by a graduate student in good standing currently enrolled in a graduate program in the College of Liberal Arts with the endorsement of a tenured or tenure-track CLA faculty member. Faculty members can sponsor the application of more than one student. However, the faculty member may advise only one pre-dissertation level GRPP and one dissertation level GRPP fellow. If two students apply for the pre-dissertation GRPP with a faculty member, only one can be awarded.
-A graduate student may not participate in more than one application for each round of funding.
-Students are ineligible if they have incompletes in official program coursework from a prior term on their transcript.
-Previous recipients of this award are also not eligible to apply.
-Students receiving other University of Minnesota fellowships, including department fellowships, during the period are ineligible for the CLA GRPP Fellowship. Students may hold external fellowships if the request is approved by their department’s CLA GRPP selection committee.
-As a condition of the award, CLA GRPP Fellows may not hold summer appointments in excess of .25 FTE.
-Students may not register for courses, except during May term, while they hold a CLA GRPP Fellowship.
