The 2016 Graduate Summer Research (GSR) Fellowships will provide a stipend of $4,000 and will include up to an additional $300 to cover the cost of budgeted materials, travel, and expendables associated with the successful execution of the research project. 

The student’s faculty project advisor must endorse the research project. A faculty member advising a Summer 2016 GRPP recipient may also endorse the application of a Psychology Graduate Student for a GSR Fellowship. Faculty may advise more than one GSR Fellowship recipient.

Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a currently enrolled psychology graduate student in good standing. 
* Previous recipients of a Graduate Research Partnership Program (GRPP) may receive a GSR Fellowship. 
* Prior recipients of a Summer 2014 or Summer 2015 GSR Fellowship are eligible, but priority will be given to students who have not previously received a GSR Fellowship.
* Recipients of a GSR Fellowship may not hold summer appointments in excess of .25 FTE except to teach a May term course.
* Students receiving other University of Minnesota fellowships during the period are ineligible for a GSR Fellowship.
* Students may hold external fellowships if the request is approved by the Department's Awards Committee.
* Students may not register for courses, except during May term, while they hold a GSR Fellowship.

Recipients of a GSR Fellowship will be required to submit a 1-3 page progress report to the Department Chair by Friday, August 12th, 2016.

For Summer 2016 there are eleven fellowships available. All applications will be reviewed by the Psychology Awards Committee using the following Selection Criteria:
* The quality and significance of the scholarship or creative work proposed
* Value of the experience to the graduate student’s academic development
* Evidence that the student is making timely progress toward degree
* Alternative sources of funding available during Summer 2016
