Welcome to the Informatics Interest Group at the University of Minnesota. This group is sponsored by the RI Bioinformatics group at MSI, but is meant to be inclusive of all bioinformatics and computational biology enthusiasts at the University as well as neighboring Minnesota institutions.

The focus of this group is to act as a place for the discussion of ideas and questions related to our field, to spotlight local seminars and events relevant to this community, and to publicize new software and resources of interest.

We meet every other week allowing time for roundtable discussion as well as a seminar or journal discussion.

Roundtable Discussion (first ~15 Minutes):

The discussion portion of the meeting is open to any and all questions or comments about informatics or working within MSI's environment. This is a chance for informatics experts and beginners alike to have their questions discussed or to chime in based on their specific expertise.

Presentations + Questions (last 45 Minutes):

We ask that the primary focus of presentations be the informatics task or challenge. Presentations may be on current research, published works, tool comparisons, how-tos with a favorite tool, or really any other topic of interest related to informatics.
