Gratuity for Lyft/Taxi

I have an ER that has Lyft gratuity. Does the 20% gratuity policy hold true for taxis/Lyft serivces?

Yes, the meal gratuity/tipping guidelines provided in the University's Business Expense policy extends to taxi/car services whether or not employees are in travel status. While the University Business Expense policy is not intended to be directly applied to travel matters, unless otherwise directly stated, the same tipping principles are expected by travelers and expense approvers.

Tipping policy:

Tips should not exceed 20%.

• In some cases, tips on meals may exceed 20% when there is a mandatory fee charged for a large group.
• Tips on delivery of items such as food, flowers, etc. should be reasonable, and in most cases may be less than 20%. Mandatory fees should be taken into account when tips are calculated.
• Tips may be rounded up to the nearest whole dollar.
