Would online conference registration to disseminate research findings of a sponsored grant that normally would have involved travel to a conference, but due to COVID, be coded under travel - conference registration or under general operating services - training and conference registration?

Yes, I would continue to code it to 720611.  The new registration code under travel was created specifically for sponsored projects.  We charge travel budget because that's where conference registration costs are budgeted.

In my department, we continue to code virtual conference related to COVID under travel - conference registration. We are basing it off the definition on the COA site for general operating services - training and conference registration. It states to use travel- conference code for sponsored.
