NIH T32 Trainee Appointment Termed Early

Hello,

I have a trainee on an NIH T32 training grant who's appointment was just termed on 5/30/16 (He's leaving the University), but the NIH training grant budget period doesn't end until 6/30/16.  Do we just need to return the unused portion of his stipend payments back to the sponsor?  Can his tuition and insurance still be covered by the project at the same rate as the other trainees?

I just realized the answer to this was never posted.  Lisa contacted me back in June with this question when she did not get a response from the group.  My advice was as follows...For some training grants if you don't finish the period of appointment it voids the entire semester or year.  I think you need to look at the rules governing appointment dates and periods.
