Carry forward balance

Recently received a request from NIH to provide information on why there was a large unobligated balance on a training award as there were only two months left in the budget period. As the training grant had just recently been transferred to the PI in this dept. the information was not easily available. Also the amount was based upon an estimate. With the help of SFR in obtaining the report that was sent to NIH and reviewing the charges for the following period the details became evident. The dollar amounts for tuition and stipends was provide to the NIH and the response was satisfactory.
