If someone is taking 6 weeks paternal leave, does their effort during that period need to be on non-sponsored funds only?

Parental leave should be allowed on a sponsored grant when an employee is being supported on that particular award. It might be useful to know more information about the particular employee class and how their appointment is paid out, but in general this should be allowed unless expressly prohibited by the sponsor. If the staff appointment is split, the parental leave should be proportionately split as well.
