Sponsored Effort during Sabbatical

I have a faculty member who is taking a 4 month sabbatical. This qualifies them for 100% of the base salary. They have significant effort on sponsored projects. Is it appropriate to continue to pay them on these sponsored projects at that level? If not, what level of effort on sponsored projects would be considered appropriate?
