Fixed Price Closeout Question

I have a fixed price closeout to complete, but the PI has now left the U (he was a post-doc). Considering this money stays in the department, what program code should I use? 20792 or 20829? I can assign it to the department chair. The department would like some flexibility in what the money will be used for in the future. They may want to support students by way of a partial research assistantship, including tuition, or for direct research support (supplies). Any help would be appreciated!

SFR leaves it up to the department to provide the nonsponsored string, including choosing the most appropriate program value to use.  If the department does not provide a nonsponsored string, we will put it to the residual program in accordance with the Administrative Procedure, "Fixed Price and Fixed Fee Contract - Closeouts" and use the program value 20792.
