Title: Spiral wave — stability, instability, and analytical methods
Abstract: I'll review conceptual work on the characterization of spiral waves in oscillatory and excitable media, characterizing in particular different forms of instability. I'll also mention some recent work exploring some more subtle questions in simple models for anchored spirals. Based on work with B. Sandstede (https://doi.org/10.1090/memo/1413, https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-1-4612-1558-5_19) and recent work with my student Nan Li.
