To whom it may concern,
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is inviting promising PhD students on the job market to present at a workshop in Machine Learning and Economics hosted virtually on December 20. The goal is to bring together young scholars whose research agenda involves machine learning (either methodological or to a significant degree in applications). The workshop is invite only, and only Philadelphia Fed economists will be present at the talks besides the selected presenters.
Participation in this workshop is not part of the hiring process for our opening for a Machine Learning Economist at the Philadelphia Fed but candidates that are a good fit for the conference are encouraged to also apply for the position.
We are reaching out to you to ask if you have students in your program that you think are a good a fit. If you have several candidates, please provide the 1-2 names that you consider your top candidates. We would appreciate it if you could reply by November 15.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Workshop organizers: Simon Freyaldenhoven, Vitaly Meursault, Minchul Shin
